Child Optimized Financial Education for use in PEPFAR OVC projects

Client: Catholic Relief Services
Location: Uganda

A financial literacy curriculum was falling short for families with children, missing key considerations and implications when prioritizing and managing money.

Picture Impact guided the adaptation of CRS’s Financial Education for families, particularly families living with HIV or who are otherwise vulnerable. From running a write shop to re-working teaching exercises to artist direction to an entirely new look and visual layout for lower literacy facilitators, and even a week long co-design workshop in the field with users—we shepherded the curriculum through a substantial transformation.

Content now connects money management back to the well-being of children in a household. It teaches primarily through stories and experiential activities, with custom-drawn images. It has icons and layout throughout to guide trainers and teachers easily.
