INSPIRE Adaptation and Scale-up Guide, Syntegral for INSPIRE

Client: Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children
Location: Global / multi-country
The challenge
The Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children wanted to provide guidance on how to scale and adapt their seven evidence-based strategies for any INSPIRE country worldwide. Scaling programs without a holistic systems approach to adaptation and contextualization can lead to poor performance outcomes. Picture Impact was hired to help create the global toolkit, supporting the technical scaling and adaptation consultants from Syntegral.
What we did
Picture Impact developed a guide and tools for adaptation and scale to support national coordinating groups to 1) adapt INSPIRE frameworks and strategies for ending violence against children to their local contexts and 2) implement programs that bring INSPIRE strategies to life. We served as developmental editors to the five guiding modules focused on introducing key ideas and topics. We created 21 interactive worksheets to help with information synthesis and application and worked with a web developer to build a microsite for the guide and tools.
The results
A web-hosted guide and toolkit on scale up and adaptation directly supports INSPIRE’s seven evidence-based strategies for ending Violence Against Children (VAC). The toolkit is easily navigable, intended to be used either in a whole or one tool at a time applied to a specific situation. The tools are developed as practical, interactive worksheets with guidance on use and application. The guide and tools can be used in a variety of settings—getting at how to do the work, not just the nature of the work.
